Expect a fun and delicious experience while strolling the historic downtown mall and side streets of our beautiful city. We’ll stop at multiple locations along the way, where you’ll taste the best Charlottesville has to offer– from savory bites to sweet desserts. You’ll also have the opportunity to rest your legs and savor the ambiance at each location. We’ll also do a wine tasting with a mini class, and finish up with a sweet treat. Along the way, you’ll hear some highlights of Charlottesville history and culture! Each tour is a unique experience, but to give you an idea of what may be in store…we’ve visited a quaint, French-inspired bistro, a funky tea room, a beach-themed pub, a gorgeous wine cellar, and an art-filled Oaxacan eatery!

This tour lasts between 2 1/2 to 3 hours. If you choose to add on the tequila mini-class, plan for an additional 20-30 minutes!

The Downtown Charlottesville Food Tour is for anyone who likes food and good company! Whether you’re a local foodie looking to explore the food scene in your area or a traveler seeking to uncover the hidden gems of Charlottesville, this tour is perfect for you. Come with your partner or best friends, or come solo and we’ll make new ones!

We’ve got everything you need to have a good time! All food, taxes, and server tips are included in the standard ticket price. If you'd like to add on the tequila tasting & mini class but have already purchased the standard ticket, you can add it on anytime before or during the tour via Venmo (just be sure to mention the date/time of your tour):

We meet 10 minutes before the tour is due to start at the Freedom of Speech Chalk Wall ON THE PEDESTRIAN MALL SIDE of City Hall (City Hall's address is 605 E Main St, Charlottesville, VA 22902.)

Parking is available at the Market Street Garage (546 E Market St, Charlottesville, VA 22902) (hourly rates apply.) Click here for directions and real-time space availability. Free parking is also available on some side streets adjacent to the mall.

Wear whatever makes you comfy! Tours will be held rain or shine (tours may be canceled in cases of extreme weather). Feel free to bring your own water bottle (optional as water will be available at every stop), and an umbrella in case of rain.

We provide a wine tasting and 2 delicious, hand-mixed cocktails on the tour. We also offer an alcohol-free option and are are happy to substitute mocktails--just let us know when booking. Additional drinks are available for purchase.

Vegetarian? We got you! (Just let us know when booking.) Guests with allergies should let us know during booking and we will contact our chefs to make sure they can to accommodate. We cannot assume responsibility for those with severe allergies.

We've created custom tours for many occasions...our tours are the perfect activity for a wedding weekend or bachelorette event, birthday celebration, or for corporate team-building! For team-building events, we can accommodate up to 30 people, have customized tours to include specific food or beverage requests, icebreaker games, and flexible start and end times to suit your team’s schedule.

There is no minimum ticket requirement. Tours can accommodate up to 15 people. Larger groups are welcome, please contact us via the chat feature or by email or phone. PS: Did you know that we are the only food tour in Charlottesville that does not require a 3 person minimum ticket purchase? We love couples and solo visitors!

Our food tours run rain or shine, so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather! However, in the event of severe inclement weather—such as a tornado warning or dangerous conditions—we may need to postpone the tour for everyone’s safety. If that happens, we’ll notify you as soon as possible and work with you to reschedule or provide other options.

The downtown mall is flat and easy to walk. However, some venues have steps. If you have limited mobility, please contact us beforehand, and we will do our best to accommodate you!

Kids 14 and older are welcome to attend with a parent or guardian. It’s worth noting, however, that we serve alcohol on the tour, including a wine tasting. Guests under the age of 21 will receive non-alcoholic beverage substitutions. No pets are permitted unless they are service animals, in which case, please let us know beforehand.
